I fell in love with making my closet full of new clothes—tops, skirts, dresses, scarves, jeans, coats, and many more. I always make sure that I follow the latest trends in fashion so that I can boost my self-confidence whenever I walk outside my house.
Since I always bring home new clothes, it is too late for me to notice that my closet becomes cluttered as I do not know where to put my new clothes. I looked for ways to manage and arrange my closet online and found the Smart Closet app.
Interestingly, a mobile application acts as my companion in arranging my clothes in my closet. The Smart Closet app also supports selecting clothes from thousands of brands and retailers, so I can add them to my virtual closet on the app.

Upon installing the app, Smart Closet asked to access my photos and media files. The app also needs to access my phone’s camera to take a photo of my clothes to be added to my closet.
After granting permissions, Smart Closet lets me check all its content and features. One thing I noticed is that the app looks like an online clothes shop full of beautiful clothes. It feels like I am virtually shopping on the Smart Closet app.
The Smart Closet app has five main tabs, which are Home, Closet, Lookbook, Favorite, and More. The Home tab lets me check the popular fashion items right now, including tops, dresses, footwear, and even accessories.
I could turn my actual closet into a virtual closet on the Smart Closet app. The Lookbook tab records my past outfits of the day and lets me plan my outfits for the coming days. I can even save fashion ideas for future reference on the app.
Creating an Account on Smart Closet
Although the Smart Closet app is free to use without an account, it encouraged me to sign up. Having an account on the Smart Closet app, lets me share my looks easily with my friends on various social media and messaging platforms.
To create an account on the app, I could just link my Google or Facebook account. The Smart Closet app asks to record my name, age, email address, and profile picture for my Smart Closet account.
Before finishing creating an account on the Smart Closet app, it asked me to read and agree to its Privacy Policy. Another advantage of having an account on the app is that I could sync my files on the cloud and local storage.
Checking Trendy Looks on Smart Closet
One of the main features of the Smart Closet app is that I can get fashion inspiration. It is also easier for me to find the best looks for my available outfits. The Smart Closet app offers not only clothes but also includes recommended accessories.
On the Home tab’s Popular page, I can scroll among the trendy looks that I can create by buying those clothes. It is also possible to search for a combination of clothes that matches the ones that I already have.
These trendy looks are all made and posted by other users of the Smart Closet app. Other users can like the posts to make them popular. I can also check the lookbook of the popular users, so I can get further inspiration
These posts containing the trendy looks are complete with the details of the clothes and accessories, including the brand name, if possible. For example, I loved those who could pull off mom jeans, crop tops, and simple sneakers.
Following My Friends and Influencers for Fashion Inspiration
The Smart Closet app wants to be a platform where users can share ideas and inspiration for fashion with each other. Thus, the app lets me follow those users who gained followers on the app as they consistently rock their daily fashion.
After creating an account on the Smart Closet app, I can now follow these individuals that will serve as my fashion inspiration and icons. It is also possible to follow my real-life friends who are also on the app.
By following my friends, I can view their lookbooks to check their OOTDs. I will not miss out on anything they wear, especially if they did not share it on other social media platforms.
Creating a Virtual Version of My Closet on the App
The Smart Closet app’s main feature is that I can save my physical closet into a virtual one by saving all the clothes inside it. Yes, I can really include all the clothes that are currently in my closet.
There are three options for how I can add the items in my closet on the app: uploading from my phone’s gallery, taking a photo directly on the app, and searching the shop for the brand and model.
The app support taking a photo of the clothes. It has built-in simple photo editing tools to ensure that the images are clear and great.
I can even easily rotate, zoom, crop, erase and fill colors in the image.
Searching By Shop on the Smart Closet App
My first option when I decided to transform my closet into a virtual one on the Smart Closet app was to search the shop. There are thousands of popular brands and retailers on the app, so I could easily find the items that I have.
Interestingly, the app sorts the shops according to the following categories: clothing, shoes, bags, accessories, jewelry, and beauty. However, I can also check the clothes according to brand and store.
Organizing My Closet on the Smart Closet App
When I had a cluttered closet, I used the app to declutter and organize my closet. It gave me three options to do so—according to category, color, or season.
I could sort my clothes according to categories, so it would be easier for me to find all my jeans, tops, accessories, etc. Some of my friends want their closets to be arranged according to color as it is pleasant to the eyes.
Interestingly, the Smart Closet app has another feature wherein I can sort my virtual closet according to statuses.
I can label my items in my virtual closet like available, wish list, or laundry. It helps me check which one I would like to buy or what is available for my daily outfit this week.
Adding Favorite Clothes and Looks on the App
As I mentioned, the app serves as a platform where I can find my fashion inspiration and icons. It lets me save the looks that I want to achieve.
In addition, Smart Closet lets me add clothes from any shop that I like, so I can actually check out their shops.
Saving and Planning My Outfits on Smart Closet
The Smart Closet app wants me to record my daily outfits. As such, it provides the Lookbook tab, with which I can simply take a photo of myself wearing an outfit and save it.
I can also select outfits from my virtual closet. Sometimes I forget to take a photo of my outfit, so I record it by using my virtual closet on the Smart Closet app.
In addition, it is also possible to plan my outfits in the coming days. There is a calendar feature where I can add the outfits that I want to wear, especially on special occasions or big events. The app will remind me daily that these are the pieces of clothing that I planned to wear for the day.
Backing Up My Account on the Smart Closet App
I do not want my virtual closet and lookbooks to disappear if I accidentally delete the Smart Closet app.
Aside from creating an account on the app, the Smart Closet app suggests backing up my account on cloud or local file storage. However, I need to pay $0.99 monthly to be allowed to back up my account.
